Future Vision

The current structure of 11:1 Leadership allows us to develop the next generation of ministry leaders through mentoring and experiences. Our mentoring structure will not change in the future because we value year-long mentoring connections. However, we want to live into the following vision to enhance our experiences to offer retreat and mentoring experiences to more ministry leaders, at a lower cost, and in a way to helps 11:1 Leadership be self-supporting in the future.

11:1 Leadership is looking to acquire properties that could be used for retreat experiences for groups or personal retreats.

Currently, we offer experiences, but we must rent Airbnbs to host these retreats. In the future, we would love to own these homes. If we own a home for these purposes, we would be able to:

  • Provide our experiences at no cost to 11:1 Leadership (instead of the incredibly high Airbnb rental fees) for the days we are using the house
  • By owning our own home, we are able to transform the space to further enhance our experiences by creating prayer rooms, Christian resource walls that are mini libraries of classic Christian books and quotes from the saints, and fit the home to meet our needs.
  • We will also be able to offer “Retreat Days” for those currently in ministry where they can book two night escapes from the demands of ministry to retreat in a space specifically designed for rest and renewal.
  • As for the days where the 11:1 Leadership home is not being used for an experience or personal retreat, we will book the house through Airbnb and use the funds from these stays to offset the costs of owning the home and help 11:1 Leadership to be self-supporting in the future.

We anticipate being able to purchase our first home like this through building the business over time, or must likely, through the generous donation of either a home, or the ability to purchase a home to host our experiences. This home could likely be a lakehouse or mountain lodge that is a second home that doesn’t get much use, donated to this non-profit, and could still be used by the original owner a few times a year.

If you might be interested in giving a seed gift towards this vision or a home to 11:1 for these purposes, please contact us below.

Another way we see this vision unfolding is by restoring closed church buildings for redemptive use. While we grieve when congregations must close their doors, we believe those sacred spaces can continue to serve the Kingdom in meaningful ways. Rather than seeing historic church buildings torn down or repurposed in ways that disconnect them from their spiritual heritage, we seek to reimagine them as 11:1 Leadership Retreat Homes.

These spaces would provide ministry leaders with intentional retreat environments for rest, reflection, and renewal. In a powerful way, buildings that once carried the weight of ministry could continue serving the Church as places that help sustain and strengthen the next generation of leaders.

Contact 11:1 Leadership if you have or know of a building that could be used for these purposes.

11:1 Leadership is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your gifts are tax-deductible and directly support the development of the next generation of ministry leaders.
